This one British dude told me that the whole world Watches the world cup. I think he's lying.
I traveled all over the world from NY to LA and not once did I see anyone talk about soccer, let alone play it. So how is the world cup the “biggest event in the world” when no one Watches it?
How old are you?
Cause that’s a very ignorant question.
Football, sorry!!!….Soccer is the worlds biggest sport.
Look it up, google it.
It's simple.
i'll help

Once you go to another country… you will see how small USA really is in terms of culture.
Soccer is life… no wait…. it's more important than life or death. Report Abuse
Dude, the world cup runs once every four years and is the most watched sport around the world. Even USA have a team. The next world cup is in 2010 and this will be one of the biggest world cups in history. How do you not know about this? sheesh!
I think the reason you have not much experience with the game is because your so called world travels haven't taken you out side of one country as you only mention NY to LA. I might not be a soccer fan but I am English (living in Canada) and I am well travelled infact just for the record I’ve been to 35% of the worlds countries from Morocco to India, Russia to Australia including America all of europe and asia, in each country with the exception of America the main sport is always soccer, the whole world is mad for it I’m talking hundreds of millions of fans on a global scale.
Now I dodon'tnow the exact facts and figures about the game but google is telling me that an estimated 3 Billion people tuned into the final game in the European cup 2008….think about it Europe alone has 48 cities (49 if you include the vatican) all of which play in the European cup if they qualify…..the world has 244 countries out of which 202 all try and qualify for the world cup witch is even more massive then the european cup…there are an estimated 6,602,224,175 people on the planet half of whom tuned into the smaller european cup so who knows just how many tune in for the world cup its probably getting on for 75% of the worlds t.v watching population…. with of course the exception of America.Interestingly enough America does try and qualify for the world cup every time and simply cant, thats the reason you dont know about the game because America it seems only recognise things they are good at.You should take the time to travel a little more its a huge world out there with so much to see it will blow your mind and change your opinon about the U.S forever. There’s a world outside of washington you know…its just a shame they try and keep you from seeing it.
