If not, is there anyway that I have the ability to get it put onto a dvd so that it can be watched on a regualr dvd player?
Video compression = discarded video information = reduced video quality
DVD based camcorders barely make good doorstops. The digital compression is the most applied when compared to other consumer camcorder video storage formats. Especially for editing, the video quality can range from poor to very poor. To answer your question directly, yes, typically, the miniDVD 8cm discs used by certain DVD based standard definition camcorders can be played in *many* (not necessarily all) regular, drawer loading, DVD players. Some discs need to be finalized in the camccorder that captured the video, some do not; some DVD players can deal with the different disc types that the camcorder can use, and some cannot. High definition video captured by some of the DVD based camcorders can’t be played by regular DVD players because they cannot deal with AVCHD compression. Small or odd sized discs should never be put in a slot loading optical drive (whether DVD player or connected to a computer).
You can upload your video to a Personal computer, edit it and burn a DVD. You'll need to capture the video via firewire - if your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable. Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker (it should already be on your PC), save it as DV-AVI (it's under Save on My Computer, Best quality show more choices, Other settings) and then write it to DVD using DVD Flick.
