How did the Liberal Media become “Mainstream” if nobody watches/reads them?

…this has always bothered me. How can they be Mainstream, if indeed - nobody Watches or reads 'em?

Monica commented on it when they arrived at Robin's wedding. His doctor (real life probably) told him to wear a hat to keep his head warm. He has to have something medical going on in real life.

I thought that was kinda strange myself when Monica apologized for him wearing a hat. But, maybe it is true that it's doctors orders. I don't know why they would write something like that in the script for no reason, unless they’re getting ready to kill him off. He'll catch cold and die. All the Quartermaine's are dying off. I sure hope they aren't planning on him going too.

I've been wearing a watch for over 40 years and nothing bad has happened to me. I think someone is pulling your leg. NO a watch is not bad for you and nothing about it will hurt you. I also heard the same thing about not to stand in front of a microwave because the way it cooks will injured you, more bologna. You can't believe everything you hear and only about half of what you see. Wear the watch, you'll be fine.

She gets angry if i go in and turn it off and my mum just tells me to leave her alone?!

Hi honey, too much Television isn’t good for your health. It adversely affects the brain and the body. Does your sister like using the personal?

She could spend some time doing more useful things on there. Think of something you can both do together, like crafts, art or games. Does she like singing or dancing, most youngsters like to perform for friends and family. Ask her to entertain you. Her brain needs some stimulation before it gels in front of that box.

Like I've said in most of my other answers on here. EVERYTHING IN MODERATION…NOTHING IN EXCESS. It can be applied to everything in life. BALANCE is the key. I’m surprised that your mum doesn't really mind that your sister is glued to the Television when she can be encouraged to partake in other activities.

Let us clarify something here: she’s your sister. She’s not your daughter. Her parent allows her to watch TV, and in fact has told you to leave the child alone. You can't stop her. You have totally no say. If you and she are talking, you can share with her your views about tv watching and other, more fun activities. You can try to engage her in other activities - take her places, give her interesting books, get her into some crafts or sports. But you can't force her to halt.

Are Fossil watches worth the money?

I'm thinking of buying a Fossil Watch for my boyfriend, but I'm not sure if they last a while or not, and unfortunately, I don't think I know anyone who has purchased one for themselves.

Fossil Watches are GREAT. I have had mine for nearly 5 years and only had the battery replaced once which was free due to warranty. They don't break under water or scratch easily.

Do clocks and Watches emit a magnetic field? I realize that a magnetic force could DISRUPT the operation of a clock, but I'm wondering if it itself emits one.

In other words, should clocks and Watches be KEPT AWAY from hard drives and other items that are sensitive to magnetic fields?

There are several different kinds of clock mechanisms. If they’ve a battery, they have some sort of magnets, usually a stepping motor.

But these are very small and emit a small magnetic field. I doubt they would have any effect on a hard drive, since it is enclosed in a metal cover that acts as a partial shield.

Don't forget any wire carrying current generates a magnetic field, including the wires inside the Personal computer. And don't forget the hard drive itself has several motors with magnets.

The only Watches that could be affected by magnets are those how has magnets inside. Electric Watches have magnets inside, but electrical Watches pass-out long time ago and where replaced by stepped motor ones. A strong magnetic field could affect a stepper motor, but is very rare, and would affect very softly. You could assume that 'normal' magnetic fields wouldn’t affect a watch, but keep Watches far from strong magnetic fields
